The Duke Univeristy golf practice facilities rank as some of the best in the country. Technologies available to both athletes and golf school students include the V1 Golf Academy swing analysis computer system, the TrackMan doppler ball flight computer system, and an air conditioned computer review room. The large, enclosed hitting facility can accommodate up to three golfers at a time. Behind the facility is a large chipping green complete with bunkers and chipping areas. Players are able to practice virtually every type of chip shot around the green due to undulating terrain and varying grass lengths. In front of the facility is a fifty-yard-wide practice tee with multiple greens within 125 yards.
This past fall, the practice facilities underwent a total renovation. The practice chipping green has been surrounded by three bunkers, each with a different type of sand. There are also a number of flat areas of fairway for chipping and pitching. The practice tee has been widened and lengthened to allow for more practice area from multiple wind directions. On the driving range, there is a mock par-4 that has been constructed to allow players and students to practice fading and drawing the ball into dual greens. The renovations were completed this past November.
